Cambridge, woman involved in lorry incident – Magpas called to scene

At 1.25pm this afternoon (4th) Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Zoe Smeed and Paramedic Chris Hawkins) arrived in central Cambridge via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW. A woman (in her 50’s) was involved in an incident with a lorry, leaving her trapped underneath the vehicle.

The Helimedix assessed the patient who had suffered multiple injuries. The Magpas team then worked alongside emergency services to safely remove the woman from underneath the lorry, before providing her with specialist A&E care on the scene. The Helimedix accompanied the patient to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by land ambulance, where on arrival she was in a serious condition.

EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews, Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Services, and the Police were also on the scene.
