Cambridge man goes into cardiac arrest – Magpas Helimedix fly to him
At 11:29am yesterday morning (25th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Maria Smith and Paramedic Steve Chambers) arrived in Cambridge via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance – after a man (in his 40’s) went into cardiac arrest.
A bystander performed CPR until an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew arrived and resuscitated the patient. The Magpas Helimedix anaesthetised the man (providing him with specialist A&E level care). The Magpas team then accompanied the patient, in a land ambulance, to Papworth hospital (monitoring his condition all the way). On arrival at the hospital the man was in a serious but stable condition.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member George Phillips.
