At 9.44am this morning (26th), Magpas Doctor Jono Ritson and Paramedic Dan Read landed in Cambridge via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a cyclist who had been injured in a collision with a HGV.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed a woman (in her 70’s) who had sustained a serious leg injury. They sedated her at the scene (providing her with A&E level care) before accompanying her by land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, monitoring her condition throughout the journey. The patient was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Cambridgeshire Police were also in attendance.
