Brogborough, road traffic incident – Magpas Helimedix fly to scene
At 12.30pm on Friday (12th) Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nathan Howes and Paramedic Dan Cody) arrived near Brogborough via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance, following a road traffic collision involving a lorry and a car.
The Helimedix assessed a male patient (in his 20’s) who had suffered a serious head injury. They sedated the man (providing specialist A&E care at the scene) before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a serious but stable condition.
The Magpas team also treated a female patient (in her 20’s) for minor injuries. She was then taken to Bedford Hospital by an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.
EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews, Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Police were also on the scene.
