Berkhamsted, pedestrian injured in collision with car – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 5.40pm yesterday evening (20th), Magpas Doctors Ed Barnard and Maria Smith and Paramedic Chris Hawkins landed in Berkhamsted, via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a pedestrian who had been injured in a collision with a car.

The Magpas medical team assessed a man (in his 20’s) who had sustained a serious leg injury. They provided him with advanced pain relief (giving him A&E level care) before an EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew took the patient by land ambulance to Watford General Hospital in a stable condition.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Steve Hunwicks.
