Bedfordshire woman falls through glass door – Magpas Helimedix fly to scene

At approximately 4:50pm Friday evening, Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Ali Tompkins and Paramedic Keir Rutherford) arrived at a Bedfordshire residential address near the Shefford area, via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance – after a mature woman suffered a fall through a glass door and endured severe neck injuries.

When the Magpas team arrived, an EEAST Ambulance Crew and Officer were providing advanced life support. The Helimedix provided crucial, specialist, A&E level care for the patient at the scene, before accompanying her to Lister Hospital in a Land Ambulance (monitoring her condition all the way). On arrival at the hospital, the woman was in a serious but stable condition. She was then fast tracked into essential surgery.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Andy Figg and Crew Member Adam Bright.

All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.

This is all the information we have at present.
