Bedford woman suffers serious fall – Magpas Helimedix fly to her

At 8.10am on the 21st December, Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Alex Cross and Paramedic Rob Riches) arrived at a residential address North West of Bedford via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance. An elderly lady had suffered a serious fall.

When the Helimedix arrived on scene the ambulance crew had resuscitated the patient. The Helimedix then anaesthetised the woman (giving her Specialist A&E level care), before accompanying her to Lister Hospital . On arrival at the hospital, the patient was in a critical condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Andy Figg and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.

All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.
