Bedford, woman suffers fall – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to her
At 8.58am this morning (26th) Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Leigh Bissett and Paramedic Steve Chambers) arrived in Bedford via the Magpas Air Ambulance, after an elderly woman had suffered a fall down some stairs.
The Helimedix assessed the patient who had suffered a head injury. The Magpas team anaesthetised the woman (providing her with specialist A&E care), before flying her to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a serious but stable condition.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene/ the Helimedix and the patient to hospital was: Pilot Andy Figg and Crew Member George Phillips.
An EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew were also on the scene. The Magpas team would like to thank the ambulance service for their excellent team work.
