At 4.31pm on Sunday afternoon (9th) Magpas Doctor Saad Jawaid and Paramedic Ollie Robinson landed in Bedford via the Magpas air ambulance. They had been called by the EEAST Ambulance Service to treat a motorcyclist injured in a collision with a car.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed a man (in his 20s) who had sustained a pelvic injury. They sedated him at the scene (providing him with A&E level care) and provided him with pain relief. They then airlifted him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge where he was in a serious condition upon arrival at hospital.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Nigel Cullen.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and two rapid response vehicles were also in attendance.
