Bedford man requires emergency medical assistance – Magpas Helimedix fly to scene
At 4pm yesterday evening, Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Jon Birks, Paramedic Dan Cody and Doctor Alistair Steel) landed in central Bedford in the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance. A man (in his 70’s) suffered a severe infection at a residential address.
The Magpas team assessed the patient and provided him with enhanced care. They then assisted a HART team and Fire & Rescue crews with removing the man safely from the second floor of the house. The patient was then taken to Bedford Hospital, in a Land Ambulance, in a serious but much improved condition.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Simon Amos.
An EEAST Ambulance Crew, a Rapid Response Paramedic and two Fire & Rescue Crews were also present. All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.
This is all the information we have at present.
