Bedford, bicycle & car collision – Magpas Helimedix fly to female patient
At 12:08pm yesterday (25th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Sarah Hazleman and Paramedic Chris Hawkins) arrived in Bedford via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance. A woman (in her 40’s) suffered a head injury, following a collision between a car and a bicycle.
The Helimedix anaesthetised the patient, providing her with specialist A&E level care at the roadside. The Magpas team then flew the woman to Addenbrooke’s Hospital (monitoring her all the way there), where on arrival she was in a potentially serious condition.
EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews and the Police were also present.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene / the patient and the Helimedix to hospital was: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Crawford.
