At 1.54am this morning (16th) Magpas Doctor Jono Ritson and Paramedic Alex Pearce arrived in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, via a Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to treat a man who had suffered a serious leg injury.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 80’s) who had a badly broken leg. The doctor and paramedic team sedated the patient at the scene (providing him with A&E level care) which allowed them to splint his injury before accompanying him by land ambulance to Bedford Hospital. They monitored his condition and provided the man with advanced pain relief throughout the journey. He was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic team were also in attendance.
