At 11.41pm on Friday night (8th), Magpas Doctor Andy Lindsay and Paramedic Ashley Richardson arrived at the A606 between Melton Mowbray and Oakham, via the rapid response vehicle, to treat a man injured in a multiple vehicle collision.
The Magpas team assessed the man (in his 20s) who had suffered injuries to his chest and pelvis. They provided him with advanced pain relief (giving him A&E level care at the scene) and anti-sickness medication. The team then accompanied the patient by land ambulance to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he was in a stable condition upon arrival.
Leicestershire Police, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, East Midlands Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Team, and East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme were also in attendance.
