A Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicleAt 5:30am on 23rd January, Magpas Doctor Lee Soomaroo and Critical Care Paramedic Steve Chambers arrived on the A605 near Oundle via a Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to a serious collision between a car and a lorry.

The Magpas advanced medical team assessed two patients at the scene. One patient, a male in his 40’s, fortunately hadn’t suffered any life-threatening injuries and was left in the care of the EMAS Ambulance Service paramedic crew. The other patient, a woman in her 40’s, had sustained multiple serious injuries. Dr Lee and CCP Steve gave the woman advanced pain relief at the scene (providing her with A&E level care), before accompanying her to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge in a very serious but stable condition.

Sadly, one of the people involved in the collision was pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this time.
