At 8.26am this morning (15th), Magpas Doctors Mark Tehan and Tom Odbert, and Paramedic Alex Pearce landed beside the A421 in the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat two people injured when a car left the road.

The Magpas medical team assessed a woman (in her 40’s) and a teenage boy who had both sustained minor injuries and were trapped inside the vehicle. The team assisted the ambulance and fire services in extricating the patients from the vehicle. They then provided the woman with pain relief before accompanying them by land ambulance to Bedford Hospital. The patients were both in a stable condition upon arrival at hospital.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew, Bedfordshire Police and Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
