A14 Hemingford Grey van incident – Magpas Helimedix fly to scene
At 12:35pm this afternoon (7th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Ben Teasdale and Paramedic Dan Read) arrived at the A14 eastbound, near Hemingford Grey, via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance – after a road traffic incident involving a van which rolled onto its side.
The Magpas team assessed a man (in his 60’s) who was trapped inside the vehicle and had suffered a non-life threatening arm injury. The Helimedix worked alongside a Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service Crew and an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew to remove the patient safely out of the van. The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Andy Figg and Crew Member Adam Bright.
An EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Resilience Manager was first on the scene and Cambridgeshire Police were also present.
