A14 Hemingford Grey van incident – Magpas Helimedix fly to scene

At 12:35pm this afternoon (7th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Ben Teasdale and Paramedic Dan Read) arrived at the A14 eastbound, near Hemingford Grey, via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance – after a road traffic incident involving a van which rolled onto its side.

The Magpas team assessed a man (in his 60’s) who was trapped inside the vehicle and had suffered a non-life threatening arm injury. The Helimedix worked alongside a Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service Crew and an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew to remove the patient safely out of the van. The man was then taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital via land ambulance in a stable condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Andy Figg and Crew Member Adam Bright.

An EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Resilience Manager was first on the scene and Cambridgeshire Police were also present.
