St Albans, woman falls whilst out walking – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to scene

At 9:15am this morning (2nd), Magpas Doctor Charlotte Haldane and Paramedic Chris Hawkins landed in a football field in St Albans via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a woman who had slipped on an embankment whilst she was out walking.

The Magpas medical team assessed the patient (in her 50’s), who had sustained a serious leg injury. They gave her advanced pain relief and sedated her at the scene (providing her with A&E level care). The Magpas team then accompanied the woman by land ambulance to Watford General Hospital. The patient was in a stable condition upon arrival at the hospital.

The Magpas helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Pilot Matt Tacon and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.
An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew was also in attendance.
