Magpas Air Ambulance has an extensive set of documents that guide our clinical practice, based on the best available evidence and local logisitcs. These are regularly updated and approved by our Clinical Governance Committee and we use them as the basis for our training.
We are very happy to share these documents and if (after going through your own clinical processes) you choose to use them, we would be delighted if you could credit Magpas Air Ambulance.
These documents are for clinicians and clinical services only.
As the Magpas Air Ambulance medical team manages the most severely injured and ill patients they may be presented with emergency situations. Most of these they are experienced and trained in handling. However, through our knowledge of error theory and in an effort to provide as much support for our clinicians as possible, we provide a range of support options including our Duty Advice Doctor (DAD - available 24/7 for telephone support) and our Emergency Action Checklists (EACs). These can be used by clinicians when they have already attempted to solve clinical issues with no success and are a reminder to them in stressful situations.
Postcode Community Trust is a grant-giving charity, funded entirely by players of People's Postcode Lottery. Our Hearts Matter project received £20,000 from the Trust.
