Bedford Running Festival: Go #FurtherFasterGreater
Take part in a Twilight 10K or Half Marathon at this fun packed, family friendly event in Bedford Priory Country Park for FREE and help to save lives in your community! All you need to do is raise £100 in sponsorship money for Magpas Air Ambulance.
So much more than a run; the weekend will feature live music, street food, yoga classes, a bar and more! So whether you’re a serious runner, fancy setting yourself a challenge for 2020, or just want to cheer on your friends and family who are taking part, this is the place to be this summer weekend.
Magpas Air Ambulance has places available for both the Twilight 10K (which takes place on the Saturday) and the Half Marathon (that kicks off on Sunday morning). The charity relies on your support to continue to provide the best emergency care, in the air or on land, including treatments usually only available in hospital. The £100 you’ll raise by taking part in the Bedford Running Festival for Magpas Air Ambulance could cover the cost of medication to anaesthetise a seriously ill patient, provide the equipment needed to help a patient breathe when they’re put on a ventilator, pay for a special pain relief pouch to help patients in extreme discomfort or even go towards keeping our helicopter flying.

All funds raised for Magpas Air Ambulance can help our advanced medical team travel by land or air to people who need it most, like 8 year old Bedfordshire-based Maddy, who was just 8 years old when she was impaled on some railings whilst playing with friends. Maddy suffered severe abdominal injuries and urgently needed the specialist skills of the Magpas Air Ambulance medics. The enhanced doctor and paramedic team provided Maddy with advanced pain relief at the scene, before airlifting her to hospital.
Maddy has made a full recovery and is now a happy, confident, 16 year old and a perfect example of the critical difference our charity can make. Maddy said, “I couldn’t be more grateful for everything Magpas Air Ambulance did for me and I want to do everything I can to help the charity’s amazing cause.”
Magpas Air Ambulance is not government funded and we’re only able to do what we do thanks to the generous donations of our supporters and fundraisers.
We need your help to be able to continue to provide services that help change the lives of people in need of urgent pre-hospital emergency medicine, both in and around the Bedfordshire area and also further afield in the areas we serve.
So sign up today and challenge yourself to go #FurtherFasterGreater to help keep the Magpas Air Ambulance flying.
