Give Magpas the Green Light 

 

Everyone in the Eastern Region is being asked to get creative with their wardrobe and wear something green for Magpas – The Emergency Medical Charity.   

Whether it’s your work place, your school, or you’re a member of a club, the charity urges people to give Green Day a go. The idea is to pay a pound to take part in the event on May 25^th, 2012. But if that date doesn’t suit, just pick your own day!  

If you’d like to take part, please get in contact with the team at Magpas, by calling (01480) 371 063. We can then send you your Green Day pack (which includes a poster, stickers and a collection tin) and please take photos from the day, so that we can build our Green Day Gallery. 

The Following information will help to explain more about who we are, what we do and the support we need. 

Picture the scene; it’s dark, it’s cold and you’re trapped in your car. Your injuries are so severe you need specialist medical care. Thankfully, you’re in the East of England where Magpas provides the UK’s only dedicated night time air ambulance with our highly trained doctors and paramedics, working together to save your life. We have over fifty highly qualified medical professionals, who volunteer their time to work with Magpas. We get there by car or by helicopter, we’ll get there anyway we can! 

Magpas has been saving lives for the past 40 years and we have come to the rescue for over 50,000 people. Now we need your help. Our doctors, paramedics, our emergency land vehicle, our helicopter, drugs and medical equipment cost just over £1,500 for a day and night shift.  Magpas Helimedix are dedicated to saving lives but they can only continue to do so, with the public’s continued support.  

What you might not realise is the NHS does not provide this service; Magpas – The Emergency Medical Charity does. So wherever you need us in the Eastern Region you can rely on us to be there for you, night and day.
