Young boy suffers seizure, near Huntingdon - Magpas Helimedix fly to scene

At 11.41am today (22nd), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Tom Odbert and Paramedic Dan Read) arrived near Huntingdon via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance. A young boy was suffering from a seizure.

The Helimedix assessed the patient and provided him with enhanced care. They then accompanied the patient by land ambulance to Peterborough City Hospital. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a stable condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Crawford.

An EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew were also on the scene.

Whittlesey, man goes into cardiac arrest - Magpas Helimedix called to him

At 6:30pm yesterday evening (21st), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Wayne Kark and Paramedic Simon Standen) arrived in Whittlesey via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW, after a man (in his 50’s) went into cardiac arrest.

When the Magpas team arrived, an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew had resuscitated the patient. The Helimedix then provided the patient with pain relief, before accompanying him to Peterborough City Hospital by land ambulance, monitoring his condition on the way. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a serious but stable condition.

At 1.20pm yesterday (19th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Raluca Ionescu and Paramedic Dan Phillips) arrived near Peterborough via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance, after a woman (in her 50’s) fell from a horse.

The Helimedix assessed the patient who had suffered injuries to her upper body. The Team sedated the patient before flying her to Peterborough City Hospital. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a stable condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene/ the patient and Helimedix to hospital was: Pilot Dan Vickers and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.

An EEAST Paramedic Officer was also on the scene.

At 1:17pm on Saturday (18th) Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Raluca Ionescu and Paramedic Steve Chambers) arrived near King’s Lynn via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance, after a woman (in her 40’s) was kicked by a horse.

The Helimedix assessed the patient who had suffered injuries to her head and back. The Team then provided the patient with pain relief, before she was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn by land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a stable condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Dan Vickers and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.

An East Midlands Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew were also on the scene.

At 12:30pm today (17th) Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Ben Teasdale and Paramedic Dan Cody) arrived in Peterborough via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance, after a very young boy fell from the first floor window of the building he was in.

The Helimedix assessed the patient who had fortunately only suffered minor injuries. He was then taken to Peterborough City Hospital in a stable condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the patient was: Pilot Dan Vickers and Crew Member Simon Amos.

An EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew were also on the scene.

A428 near Croxton, road traffic incident - Magpas Helimedix called to scene

At 12:30pm yesterday (15th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Ali Hieatt and Paramedic Chris Hawkins) arrived on the A428 near Croxton via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW, after a lorry left the road and ended up in a ditch.

The Helimedix assessed a man (in his 50’s) who suffered lower body injuries. The Team sedated the patient (providing enhanced A&E level care), before working alongside the emergency services to safely move the man into a land ambulance. The Helimedix then accompanied the patient by road to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. On arrival at the hospital the man was in a stable condition.

Magpas Helimedix Doctor Ali Hieatt says, “We wish our patient a swift recovery. All the emergency services worked well together to enable a successful technical rescue.”

An EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew, Fire and Rescue Services and the Police were also on the scene.

The Helimedix assessed the patient and provided him with pain relief. They then worked alongside an East Midlands Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew to help safely move the man into an ambulance. The patient was then taken to Kettering Hospital in a stable condition.

On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a stable condition.

At 9:30am on the 3rd April, Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Chris Adcock and Paramedic Phil Almond) arrived at the A1 near Peterborough via a Magpas Helimedix Rapid Response BMW. Two cars were involved in a road traffic incident, leaving a man (in his 30’s) trapped inside one of the vehicles.

The Magpas team provided pain relief for the patient who suffered non-life-threatening body injuries. The Helimedix then worked alongside an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew and a Fire & Rescue Service Crew to get the man safely out of the car, before the patient was taken to Peterborough City Hospital by land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital, the man was in a stable condition.

The Police were also present.

At 10:20pm on the 1st April, Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Sarah Hazleman and Paramedic Ash Richardson) arrived in the Fotheringhay area, via Magpas Helimedix Rapid Response BMW. A car was involved in a road traffic incident, leaving a man (in his 60’s) trapped inside the vehicle in a ditch.

A Fire & Rescue Service Crew initially helped to get the patient safely out of the car. The Magpas team assessed the man who fortunately suffered minor injuries. The patient was given permission to leave the scene of the incident and was subsequently helped home by the Emergency Services.

An EMAS Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew and the Police were also present.

At 3:50pm on the 1st April, Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Tom Odbert and Paramedic Dan Cody) arrived at the A17, in the Holbeach area, via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance - after two cars were involved in a road traffic collision.

An EMAS Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew gave pain relief to a woman (in her 70’s) who suffered back and chest pain and was trapped inside one of the vehicles. The Helimedix then worked alongside the ambulance crew and fire & rescue service crews to remove the patient safely from one of the cars. The woman was then taken to Pilgrim Hospital by land ambulance, where on arrival she was in a stable condition.

The Magpas team also assessed a woman (in her 20’s), who fortunately didn’t suffer any injuries. This patient was given permission to leave the scene of the incident and go home.

The Police were also present. The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.
