At 8.41pm last night (14th), Magpas Doctor Sarah McNeilly and Paramedic Ollie Robinson arrived in Peterborough via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW – following a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

The Magpas team assessed a boy (in his teens) who had fortunately suffered minor injuries. The patient was then taken to Peterborough City Hospital, in a stable condition, by an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew.

The Police were also on the scene.

The Magpas team assessed a man (in his 20’s) who had sustained multiple injuries. The Magpas Doctors and Paramedic provided the patient with advanced pain relief, before accompanying him to University Hospital Coventry by land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a stable condition.

East Midlands Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews, Fire and Rescue Services, an EMICS Doctor, and the Police were also on the scene.

At 7.15pm on Thursday (31st), Magpas Doctor Steve Corry-Bass and Paramedic Ash Richardson arrived in Bedford via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW – following a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a car, which left a man (in his 30’s) trapped underneath the vehicle.

The Magpas team worked alongside Fire and Rescue Services and EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews to help safely remove the man from underneath the vehicle. The Magpas Doctor and Paramedic assessed the patient who had sustained multiple injuries, before providing him with pain relief. The man was then taken to Bedford Hospital, in a stable condition, by an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew.

The Police were also on the scene.

 At 12.31pm on Saturday (19th), Magpas Doctor Zoe Smeed, Doctor Chris Adcock and Paramedic Dan Phillips landed near Wellingborough via the Magpas Air Ambulance - following a road traffic collision involving two cars.

The Magpas team assessed a young girl who had suffered a leg injury. The Magpas Doctors and Paramedic then put measures into place to protect the patient’s injury, before flying her to University Hospital Coventry. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a stable condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Magpas Doctors and Paramedic to the scene/ the patient and the Magpas Doctors and Paramedic to hospital was: Pilot Craig Redman and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.

East Midlands Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews, and the Police were also present.

The Magpas team assessed the patient who had suffered serious leg injuries. The Magpas Doctor and Paramedic then worked alongside Fire and Rescue Services and EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews to safely remove the man from the vehicle. The Magpas team sedated the patient (providing him with specialist A&E care on the scene), before accompanying him to Luton and Dunstable Hospital by land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a serious but stable condition.

At 6.04am this morning (9th), Magpas Doctor Zoe Smeed and Paramedic Ollie Robinson arrived south of Oakham via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW – following a serious road traffic collision involving a lorry and a car.

The Magpas team assessed a man (in his teens) who had suffered a head injury. The Magpas Doctor and Paramedic sedated the patient (providing him with specialist A&E level care), before accompanying him to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham by land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital the man was in a serious but stable condition.

Three other patients were also assessed at the scene by the Magpas team. Two were taken to hospital by East Midlands Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews, and one patient was allowed to go home.

Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, one patient was also pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. Our thoughts are with their friends and family at this time.

An EMICS doctor, Fire and Rescue Services, and the Police were also present.

The Magpas Doctor and Paramedic assessed two more patients on the scene, a woman (in her 40’s) and a man (in his 20’s) who had also suffered minor injuries. The patients were then allowed to leave the scene of the incident.

The Police and Fire and Rescue Services were also on the scene.

Emergency services worked together to safely remove the man from the car. The Magpas team then worked alongside EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews to assess the patient who had suffered multiple injuries. The Magpas Doctor and Paramedic anaesthetised the man (providing him with specialist A&E care on the scene), before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by land ambulance. Fire and Rescue Services worked to safely remove the patient from underneath the car. The Helimedix then assessed the woman who had fortunately not suffered any serious injuries. The Magpas team provided the patient with pain relief, before accompanying her to Peterborough City Hospital by land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital the woman was in a stable condition.
