Skegness, man pulled from water - Magpas Helimedix fly to him

At 1:04pm yesterday afternoon (9th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Sarah Hazleman and Paramedic Dan Phillips) arrived at Skegness beach via the Magpas Air Ambulance. A man (in his 20's) had experienced some serious difficulty whilst in the sea, he was quickly helped out of the water and then suffered a collapse.

The Helimedix assessed the patient whilst working alongside an East Midlands Ambulance Service Crew who were also at the scene. The man was then taken to hospital by land ambulance in a stable condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Andy Craigie.
Life guards, the coastguard and an RNLI crew were also present. Everyone worked extremely well together.

Bedfordshire, man in motocross incident - Magpas Helimedix fly to him

At 4:42pm yesterday afternoon (9th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Sarah Hazleman and Paramedic Dan Phillips) arrived at a motocross track in central Bedfordshire, south of Kempston, via a Magpas Rapid Response BMW - after a man (in his 40's) had fallen from a motocross bike.

The Helimedix assessed the patient who had suffered chest injuries and severe breathing difficulties. The Magpas team administered enhanced pain relief (providing specialist A&E care at the scene), before accompanying the man to Bedford Hospital by land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a serious but stable condition.

EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews, a HART crew and a private ambulance crew were also present.

The Helimedix assessed a man (in his 50’s) who had suffered a serious head injury. The Magpas team anaesthetised the patient (providing specialist A&E care at the scene), before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a serious but stable condition.

An EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew, 3 EEAST Rapid Response Vehicles, and the Police were also on the scene.

At 5.31pm yesterday (2nd) Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Raluca Ionescu and Paramedic Dan Phillips) arrived in Peterborough via the Magpas Air Ambulance – following a serious collision at a speedway meeting.

The Helimedix assessed a man (in his 20’s) who had suffered a head injury. The Magpas team anaesthetised the patient (providing specialist A&E care at the scene), before flying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a serious but stable condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene/ the Helimedix and the patient to hospital was: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.

An EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew were also present.

At 1.39pm yesterday (2nd) Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Raluca Ionescu and Paramedic Dan Phillips) arrived near Ely via the Magpas Air Ambulance – following a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car.

The Helimedix assessed a woman (in her 50’s) who had suffered multiple body injuries. The Magpas team sedated the patient (providing specialist A&E care at the scene), before accompanying her to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a serious but stable condition.

An EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew treated a male patient on the scene, before taking him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.

The Police and a Community First Responder were also present.
