Nr Baldock, cyclist injured in collision with vehicle – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 11.19am on Sunday morning (20th), Magpas Doctor Andy Lindsay and Paramedic Ollie Robinson landed near Baldock via the air ambulance to treat a female cyclist injured in a collision with a vehicle.

The Magpas team assessed the woman (in her 20s) who had sustained multiple injuries and provided her with pain relief and anti-sickness medication. They then accompanied the patient by land ambulance to the Lister Hospital where she was in a stable condition upon arrival.

EEAST Ambulance Service and Hertfordshire Police were also in attendance.

Wisbech, man goes into cardiac arrest – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to scene

At 7.28am this morning (16th), Magpas Doctor Zoe Smeed and Paramedic Dan Read arrived in Wisbech, via the rapid response car, to treat a man who had gone into cardiac arrest.

The team offered A&E level specialist care by anaesthetising and sedating the man (in his 30s). The patient was then transferred by the Magpas Air Ambulance to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

EEAST Ambulance Service were also in attendance.

Nr Kettering, 2x vehicle collision – Magpas called to scene

At 7.13am on Sunday morning (13th), Magpas Doctor Dave Leverton and Paramedic Simon Standen arrived near Kettering, via the rapid response car, to a collision involving two cars.

The team assessed man in his 30s who had sustained multiple fractures and a head injury. The man was sedated and anaesthetised (provided with A&E level specialist care) at the scene, before the team accompanied him by land ambulance to University Hospital Coventry. The patient was in a serious but stable condition on arrival.

Four occupants of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.

EMAS Ambulance Service and Northamptonshire Police were also in attendance.

At 3.13am this morning (9th), Magpas Doctor Rupert Hurry and Paramedic Chris Hawkins arrived at the M11 near Epping, via the rapid response car, to a collision involving two vehicles.

The team assessed a man in his 20s who had sustained a head injury. They provided the patient with pain relief and anti-sickness medication before accompanying him by land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. The patient was in a stable condition on arrival.

EEAST Ambulance Service, Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and Essex Police were also in attendance.

St Neots, car and pedestrian collision – Magpas called to scene

At 5.26pm on Tuesday evening (8th), Magpas Doctor Dave Leverton and Paramedic Dan Phillips arrived in St Neots, via the rapid response car, to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

The team assessed a teenage girl who had sustained an injury to her ankle. They provided the girl with pain relief before she was taken by EEAST Ambulance Service to Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The patient was in a stable condition on arrival.

Cambridgeshire Police were also in attendance.
