Huntingdon teenager loses finger in fence fall……24th January, 2012……

At 7pm last night (Tuesday 24th), our Magpas Helimedix team (Dr Fiona Bowles and Volunteer Ryan Warwick) arrived in Huntingdon to treat a 13 year old teenager who amputated his finger when he fell from a fence.

The Magpas team gave the patient antibiotics and anti-sickness drugs, he was then taken to Addenbrooke’s hospital by the ambulance crew who were also on the scene. His condition was described as stable on arrival, he was subsequently taken straight into theatre for a reattachment operation. His mother was with him at the hospital.

Magpas Dr Fiona Bowles said, “He was a very brave young man, he did really well”.

The EEAST Ambulance crew on the scene were extremely helpful.
