Fundraising Challenges 2013
Paul Gibson will be taking part in the Great Eastern Run in Peterborough
On Sunday 13th October 2013 Paul will be running for Magpas. Paul has previously run in 2010 for National Autistic Society but has chosen Magpas as his charity for the 2013 run. Paul's donation site is www.justgiving.com/gibsonformagpas
"In 2010 I ran the Great Eastern Half Marathon and on finishing promised to myself that I would never do it again! After three years the memories have faded and the challenge has taken over. Running for a charity is a great source of motivation and inspiration.
I recently visited Magpas with the 1st Doddington Cub Scout Group as part of their Community Challenge badge. I had heard of Magpas before but was not fully aware of the really important work they do to support medical incidents of the most severe nature"

I've volunteered as a Helimedix Critical Care Paramedic for several years. Having worked in the health service for over 16 years, I have yet to find a more dedicated, motivated and truely inspiring group of people! The service provided by Magpas Helimedix is amazing and it truely has been a privilege to be a part of it for so long.
The investment in the training that I have been given undoubtedly has helped to advance and improve the level of care I, in turn, can provide to my patients and with such an experienced and senior group of clinicians participating in the Magpas Helimedix team, it goes without saying that the clinical care provided within the East of England is second to none and none of this would be possible without your help.

For those of you who know my story...sorry to bore you again. For those who don't, here goes:
At 20 years old I passed my full motor bike test and bought a sports bike.
2 months later a driver pulled out in front of me, I hit her at approximately 70mph, leaving me in a COMA and fighting for my life, if it wasn't for MAGPAS, specifically the marvellous, the miraculous and mostly mega Dr Simon Lewis, I wouldn't be here at all, well not in my current capacity.
MAGPAS, get the best pre hospital trauma doctors (to work in their spare time unpaid), to carry out emergency medicine, the kind you find in the best hospital A&E departments, They basically bring the A&E dept to you!
So...after 3 years rehab, I was discharged and sent on my way, a finished and almost polished product.
Well that was my story and I think the least I can do help raise there profile and if possibe raise alittle cash for them.
So, if you can spare some £££ or even £, I would really appreciate it if you clicked the donate button.
