“Magpas saved my life. I still find it incredible to think that the doctor and paramedic who treated me at the scene were volunteers who were doing a 12 hour shift in their own time and for no payment. They are amazing individuals.”
- One of the many patients saved by Magpas

This is the modern version of the original GP service. Our doctors and paramedics work in teams of two delivering emergency critical care at the scenes of road traffic accidents and other very serious incidents. All of our volunteers are trained to an incredibly high standard so they are literally able to anaesthetise patients at the roadside and perform lifesaving interventions when and where the patient needs it – these may include surgical procedures.

The EMT is able to get to incidents using their dedicated response car or either the East Anglian Air Ambulance or Cambridgeshire Police helicopter. This service covers Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire 7 days a week. The Air Ambulance is available to the team 5 days a week. Click here to go to the Emergency Medical Team FAQ page to find out more!
