At 8:57am this morning (8th September), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Lorraine Greasley and Volunteer Paramedic Simon Standen) arrived at a residential address in Baldock, via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance.
A man (in his 40’s) had suffered a cardiac arrest. An EEAST Ambulance Crew on the scene had resuscitated the patient, but he still needed specialist medical care. The Magpas Helimedix anaesthetised the man, they helped control his breathing, administered drugs, fluids and antibiotics to prevent any infection. They then accompanied the patient to Lister Hospital in Stevenage in a Land Ambulance. On arrival at the hospital, he was in a critical condition.
The Helicopter team who flew the Magpas team to the scene was: Pilot Richard Boswell and Air Observer Steve Hunwicks
